PLEASE PUT OUT AN APB....REAL HIP HOP IS MISSING

Whatever happened to real hip hop?? I remember when I was a kid growing up in the 80s when hip hop was looked at in our (the black) community as an unheard voice of expression that seemed to have "no control" by the white nosayers of the music industry. I'm talking about a time when you could'nt keep these nosayers out of the courtrooms, and media trying to stop the movement. Records like Self Distruction, We All in the Same Gang, 911 is a joke, Fuck the Police...where have they gone. Our music that was once saw as a voice of freedom, a terror to the whiteman; has now been dumbed down so much that we so often at times look like dancing bafoons. Does this NEW hip hop not remind us of something that others before us have strived so hard to work away from? My people I am talking of the times when black people were used (in Hollywood) to be Sambo's, and Slaves; Nanny and Maids. We are so past that my brothers and sisters. Now a days the industry is so "controlled by the hand". No longer are rap artist rapping about their lives, their struggles, they're rapping about what the industry says sells. And yes this music does sell, but it SELLS more that records; it sells young black children a world with NO substance. A world where woman are "hustlers, and top boss" if they are strippers, men are "boss" if they sell drugs...really?? We can say soo much more associated with these words (huslter & boss) other than drugs and strippers; especially when nine times out of ten that rapper knows that his woman is'nt a stripper nor does he want her to be and he hasnt ever served any keys. We can rap about more than just stupid dance moves (not that I dont like them, just keeping it real), how great it is to be a stripper (someone that was once looked upon a trashy), how selling drugs got you your success; is that all are black people are about? I pose this question because this is the image that we are showing...not just our children, or America, but the world. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that hip hop should be this positive music full of inspiration and motivation; what I am saying is TELL THE TRUTH!! Talk about your real life issues (because please believe we all have them), now if you really were a hustler and you so stupidly choose to put your dirty business in the streets so be it; but let's not LIE and brainwash young nieve minds that you can actually live that life and rap about it and not have either already done time for this crime or be on your way to prison for it real soon. LETS KEEP IT REAL!!! ..... This was made to be just a taste of the knowledge that I have to drop, if my thoughts speak to you (either good or bad); halla at me. Let's all as black people work together to save our people from the mental corruption of today's lost society. It's time for change, and change is now. Yes we can!!! Register to Vote!!! Speak your mind, because One voice can make a difference!!!!!!
